Who We Are
ERUKO Saving & Credit Cooperative Society
ERUKO MULTIPURPOSE CO-OPERATIVE was established in 2015 in Loarengak_Lakezone ward, Turkana County, Kenya. Born from the urgent need to address the financial vulnerability of pastoralist communities facing climate change, we have grown from a small Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) into a formal, registered Savings and Credit Cooperative Society.
Our name, ERUKO, reflects our deep roots in the Turkana community. We serve 222+ members — Men and women — across 12 youth and women groups, working together to build resilient livelihoods.

The Five Pillars of Climate-Smart Agriculture
Moringa
Drought-resistant and highly nutritious, Moringa is ideal for Turkana. ERUKO finances cultivation, processing into powder and oils, and connects members to buyers.
Beekeeping & Honey
Working with 23 Beach Management Units along Lake Turkana, our beekeeping programme creates sustainable income while supporting pollination of local plants.
Pasture Production
Working with farmers in Kalobeyei to produce high-quality pasture for livestock feed, supporting pastoralist livelihoods across the region.
Saving and Loaning
ERUKO provides accessible savings and loan services to our members, helping them build financial resilience and support their livelihoods.
